Little Folkies offers mixed-age classes rooted in the traditions of folk music which draws its central theme from nature by celebrating the change of seasons.

Our classes offer a rich, playful, musical and magical environment in which children will be engaged through singing, playing instruments, listening activities, musical games, storytelling, and movement. Your child will be introduced to core musical elements like major scales, minor scales, and rhythmic patterns. Our curriculum offers a holistic approach to giving children a foundation upon which to build their musical literacy skills.

Above all, though, Little Folkies is a time to be creative; a time to imagine; a time to connect with our children and experience the beauty of the ancient art and practice of making music together, from the heart.
I stand in the tradition of common folk musicians across the lands; although I enjoyed a formal music education as a child, I believe it does not take special skill or talent to sing and play music.
As a certified Musikgarten teacher and native German, I am inviting you to reconnect with our roots; let us sing American folks songs and explore international folk music together with our children!
